Job Summary

We are seeking a highly driven Project Engineer to manage end-to-end execution of Redox Flow Battery (RFB) turnkey projects. The role covers planning, engineering coordination, procurement, installation, commissioning, and final handover.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in renewable energy / battery energy storage systems, with the ability to manage complex projects while ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with UAE regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Initiation

• Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables
• Develop project schedules, WBS, and resource plans
• Prepare budgets, cost estimates, and forecasts
• Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments
• Obtain permits and approvals (DEWA, DERC, Dubai Municipality)
• Establish communication and reporting frameworks

Design & Engineering Management

• Coordinate electrical, mechanical, civil, and control system designs
• Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, and local standards
• Lead design reviews and approvals
• Collaborate with consultants and technology partners

Procurement & Supply Chain

• Develop procurement strategies for equipment and services
• Manage vendor selection, tendering, and negotiations
• Oversee logistics, shipping, and delivery timelines
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve disruptions

Installation & Construction

• Supervise on-site installation and construction activities
• Ensure compliance with engineering drawings and QA/QC standards
• Enforce HSE policies and safety compliance
• Manage subcontractors, labor, and site operations

Commissioning & Testing

• Develop commissioning plans and protocols
• Oversee system testing and performance validation
• Coordinate with OEMs and technical specialists
• Manage grid connection approvals (DEWA)

Project Monitoring & Control

• Track progress against schedule and budget
• Implement corrective actions when needed
• Prepare reports and present KPIs to stakeholders
• Manage change control and documentation
• Apply Earned Value Management (EVM)

Stakeholder Management

• Act as primary contact for clients and authorities
• Maintain strong stakeholder relationships
• Ensure effective communication across teams
• Manage expectations and client satisfaction

Quality Assurance & Handover

• Implement QA/QC processes across all phases
• Ensure compliance with specifications and standards
• Manage inspections, punch lists, and defect closure
• Deliver as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and training
• Conduct project review and improvement analysis

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical / Mechanical / Chemical / Renewable Energy)
• Master’s Degree (preferred)
• PMP Certification or equivalent (highly desirable)

Experience

• 4–6 years in project management (renewable / power / industrial sector)
• Experience in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
• RFB experience preferred; Li-ion exposure acceptable
• Proven track record in delivering turnkey projects
• UAE/GCC experience preferred
